We are seeking volunteers to serve on next year’s PTA Board and other leadership positions to keep the PTA going strong for the 2020-2021 school year. Vice-President: Acts as aide to the president and performs the duties of the president and/or the president-elect in the absence or inability of that officer to act. The Vice-President is also responsible for overseeing hospitality events, like teacher lunches and teacher appreciation week. Responsible for leading at least one event, program, or activity. Participates in PTA events and activities.
Secretary: Records the minutes of all meetings of the association, keeps the official copy of the local unit’s bylaws in his/her files, and maintains a membership list as required by the Virginia PTA. Responsible for leading at least one event, program, or activity. Participates in PTA events and activities.
Treasurer: Manages PTA funds, to include depositing, disbursing and reconciling money as agreed upon by the PTA Board. At the beginning of each school year, the Treasurer works with the PTA Board to develop an operating budget and uses Quickbooks to track the budget throughout the school year. On an ongoing basis, the Treasurer uses Quickbooks to maintain financial records and to run a monthly financial report to be referenced at each PTA meeting. At the end of the year, the Treasurer is responsible for providing documentation to the Tax Accountant and Audit Committee.
Website Coordinator: Adds and edits content to the PTA website. This person will ensure that information from the school and the school website can also be found on the PTA website. Experience with WordPress would be helpful.
Fall Festival Coordinator – Coordinates this annual fun-filled after school event where the PTA hosts carnival booths, games and other activities for students each year in October. Organizes several committee members to plan specific activities.
