Please join us for our virtual PTA Meeting on Thursday, October 8 , 2020 at 6:30 p.m.
The Fairhill Elementary School PTA welcomes parents, teachers and staff, grandparents, other adult family members, and community members as part of the PTA. We hope that at least one adult from each Fairhill family will consider becoming a member. Fairhill has a strong tradition of membership from its parents, teachers and staff.
Membership comes with some additional money-saving benefits to you. Whether you’re buying school supplies for the kids or renting a car for your next family vacation, PTA members can save money on everyday purchases thanks to National PTA’s Member Benefits Provider Program.
To join, click on the link https://fairhilles.memberhub.store/. Membership is available for a family for $20, for one parent (or other adult) for $10, and $5 for Fairhill teachers/staff.
Here Comes the Bus®, a parent-focused school bus tracking app for the 2019-20 school year. The app is offered at no charge to parents.
Here Comes the Bus® can simplify morning and afternoon routines by giving parents and guardians real-time bus locations through text or email notification alerts. Here Comes the Bus® combines GPS and bus routing data in an easy to use, customizable app that works on one or multiple devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptop or desktop computers. The app provides timely school bus arrival information through a graphical interface as well as messaging to indicate the bus’s distance from your child’s bus stop for both a.m. and p.m. bus stops.
For more information, or to sign up and start using Here Comes the Bus®, please follow this link: Here Comes the Bus.
Additional questions concerning the application should be directed to 571-423-2400 or Fasteam@FCPS.edu.
We are moving forward with our Rain Garden project this spring! We are planting around the rear storm drain on April 30 with the assistance of Fairfax County Stormwater and their R3 Program (Revitalize, Restore, Replant). They are providing the native plants and will be on site to work with the 5th graders who will be doing the actual planting. Friends of Accotink Creek will also be conducting a watershed educational session in the schoolyard that day as well!
More details on the Rain Garden Project page.
