When did you realize you wanted to become a school counselor?
I realized I wanted to be a school counselor when I started graduate school in mental health counseling. Looking back at my experiences volunteering in my church as a teenager, I really enjoyed working with children and youth and was grateful for the opportunity to switch fields.
What made you want to work in in an elementary school?
In graduate school, I had an internship working in an elementary school in FCPS and that experience was exciting and so much fun. My supervisor at the school who was an elementary school counselor was supportive and helped me to see elementary school counseling as a career worth pursuing.
Name something you would like to improve upon.
I am always working on increasing my physical strength and fitness by exercising regularly even when life gets hectic.
Which school/university did you attend?
I went to Agnes Scott College for undergraduate study majoring in political science and The George Washington University for a master’s degree in school counseling.

I fell in love with Fairhill the moment I saw the school and visited almost 12 years ago. Fairhill is a warm and energetic school where relationships matter – this is the where I am meant to be.
